Another posting a day late for Halloween, but at least it caught the tail end of All Saints Day. It is probably not surprising that some of the most common and plentiful archaeological finds are carved stone sarcophagi. They were not only very solid structures, but they were often given protection inside a tomb, and there were not many ways that they could be recycled.
